Kerry’s true colours.

More on John Kerry and cohorts from Winter Soldier and Dewey Canyon III. Quotes from wintersoldier.com and ‘Stolen Valor’ B. G. Burkett and Glenna Whitley, Verity Press, 1998, Chapter 6, Atrocities In April 1971, the Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW) staged a demonstration it called Dewey Canyon III, a “limited incursion into the country of Congress.”

The protest was named after an operation in 1969 that sent elements of the 3rd Marine Division into Laos. About this same time, an ad appeared in The New York Times signed by forty-nine American servicemen from the 1st Air Cavalry Division urging support for antiwar demonstrations. But as United Press International later reported, the men, members of a Mekong Delta-based helicopter unit, had neither read nor paid for the ad. After being blocked from holding a ceremony honoring the war dead at Arlington National Cemetery, the veterans marched to the Capitol to present sixteen demands to Congress. At the end of the day; they held a candlelight march around the White House.

After a man who said his son died in Vietnam blew taps, the soldiers began flinging their war medals over a high wire fence in front of the Capitol: Purple Hearts, Bronze Star Medals, Silver Stars — bits of ribbon and metal hurled in the face of the government that had so betrayed them. Some, after throwing away what had cost them so dearly, broke down and cried. One of them was John Kerry, Vietnam Navy veteran and aspiring politician who had been among those who organized the protest. Kerry flung a handful of medals — he had received the Silver Star, a Bronze Star Medal, and three Purple Hearts — over the fence. Kerry spoke later that week before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, putting a face on the antiwar movement far different from the one seen before — the scruffy hippie or wild-eyed activist. Kerry represented the All-American boy, mentally twisted by being asked to do terrible things, then abandoned by his government. From start to finish, the public took Dewey Canyon III at face value, not understanding that they were watching brilliant political theater.

Kerry, a Kennedy protege with white-hot political aspirations, ascended center stage as both a war hero and as an antiwar hero throwing away his combat decorations. His speech, apparently off the cuff, was eloquent, impassioned. But years later, after his election to the Senate, Kerry’s medals turned up on the wall of his Capitol Hill office. When a reporter noticed them, Kerry admitted that the medals he had thrown that day were not his. And Kerry’s emotional, from-the-heart speech had been carefully crafted by a speechwriter for Robert Kennedy named Adam Walinsky, who also tutored him on how to present it.

TV reporters totally ignored another Vietnam veteran, Melville L. Stephens, a former aide to Adm. Elmo Zumwalt, chief of Naval Operations, who that same day urged the Senate not to abandon America’s allies in South Vietnam. “Peace for us must not come at the cost of their lives,” Stephens said in a speech he wrote himself.

Others supposedly Vietnam Vets were with Kerry during this peace march. Alfred H. Hubbard entered the Air Force in October 1952…..There is no record of any service in Vietnam …Michael Harbert, also had problems with their credibility…His only overseas service was in Taiwan from November 28, 1967, to April 9, 1968.

Veteran Chuck Onan, for example, claimed he had attended parachute, frogman, and jungle survival schools and had received special training in torture techniques, such as stripping women prisoners, spreading their legs, and driving pointed sticks into their vaginas. Onan became a member of an LRRP (Long Range Recon Patrol) unit but deserted before he was sent to Vietnam, fleeing to Sweden so he did not have to kill. “They just went too far,” Onan said. He (actually) worked as a stock room clerk at a Marine base in Beaufort, S.C Lawyer and activist Mark Lane was one of the organizers of Winter Soldier.

Lane quoted one man’s contention that a female Communist sympathizer was interrogated, tortured, and then raped by every soldier in his battalion. “Lane does not explain that in Vietnam an American battalion runs anywhere from one thousand to twelve hundred men.” I can remember seeing the TV shots of these people marching and thinking ‘what a mob of hippy freaks.’ How could they have been soldiers? Lie after lie – just like the anti-war mob here in Australia. Keep telling lies and fools will believe. Considering Kerry for President is the same as putting Jim Cairns forward for PM. Info on Kerry is coming thick and fast and people are starting to notice. Read more>>

Chopper Pilot killed

A tragedy occurs as well intentioned people try and lift the standards of countries poorer than us. In return the pilot is killed by the very people he tries to help. Too ignorant to understand, they thanked him with a burst from an AK47 – the only thing they do understand.
“It’s very sad that he’s gone,” Downer said today. “He was there to help the people of Afghanistan.”
Officials said the helicopter belonged to The Louis Berger Group, an engineering firm based in East Orange, New Jersey. The company oversees a wide range of a US-government funded infrastructure projects in Afghanistan. The Louis Berger Group have been critisised for not ‘bullet proofing’ their choppers. The Courier Mail report deals with this matter but the pictures I’ve seen of the chopper indicates it’s a UH1D or similar and I can only imagine if one was to make it bullet proof, it would also be fly-proof – it wouldn’t be able to take off. Bullet proofing aircraft doesn’t happen. Vietnam UH1D pilots could only sit on their flak jackets to offer some hope of protecting certain male appendages but all other protection consisted of tactical flying – dramatic for the people in the cabin but often effective.

Watch Telstra

A word to the wise about Telstra – don’t trust them! If you are looking at going Broadband take note of warnings from the industry. Telstra charge for uploads and downloads so the 200 mb allowance before 15c per Mb cuts in is very small indeed and can be eaten up without you knowing. I never download movies, never play games on the net, understand computers and still get caught with my 500Mb allowance. I exceeed the allowance by Feb 14 this month alone. You will get charged for just looking at pictures and if you hit F5 or refresh that will cost as well. They even charge for sending emails. Telstra has a corporate charter that is restricted to making money while a lot of small operators would like to build up a customer data base and try to offer a fair deal. More>>

Good News week

OSAMA bin Laden is reportedly surrounded by United States special forces in a mountain range that straddles north-west Pakistan and Afghanistan. Reported by Internationally respected investigative journalist and author Gordon Thomas.
Internationally respected investigative journalist and author Gordon Thomas says the al-Qaida terror group leader has been sighted for the first time since 2001 and is being monitored by satellite. In a report to be published in a British newspaper, Thomas says bin Laden is in a mountainous area to the north of the Pakistani city of Quetta. The region is said to be a stronghold for bin Laden supporters and the terror kingpin is estimated to have 50 of his fanatical bodyguards by his side. Thomas attributes his report to “a well-placed intelligence source” in Washington who is quoted as saying: “He (bin Laden) is boxed in.”
Please! Let it be so!

Abrams it is

According to todays Australian (no link)the ADF have chosen the Abrams battle tank over the Brit Chieftan and the Kraut Tiger III. abrams.jpg The Abrams, at 68 tonnes, has been criticised for being more tank than the ADF needs and difficult to transport aboard our existing navy ships. Lt Gen Leah earns my praise for this line.
I would like to thank those critics who took the time and effort to point out that the new tanks might be heavy, difficult to deploy and use fuel. I hope you won’t find it strange to hear we had actually thought about that, and they’re not a problem or we have….strategies in place
I have to tell you, us infantrymen don’t care too much about how expensive it is to run or how dificult it is too move. We just say ‘Request Tango (armoured) support’ (in a high pitched nervous voice)and leave those problems to the beancounters and logisticians. When the tank arrives, we never discuss the cost of his trip to our position, we just say things like ‘could you go over there and wiggle your tracks on top of that bunker’, or ‘could you fire your main armourment at that group of bad guys?’ Never once have I heard an infantryman say’ Wow, $3,500 just to drive out here. And whats that you say – $850 per 120mm round. I’m sorry – you stay there and I’ll try and fix the problem with my $1.20 per 5.56mm Steyr rounds To us, Bigger is better. Overkill, the main game. 68 tonnes is better for crushing slow enemy and pushing down his defences than 50 tonnes and the last time I looked 120mm smooth bore does more damage than a 105mm. In addition, something weighing 68 tonnes is better to hide behind that a 50 tonne something. Haven’t heard any infantrymen complain yet.

Tropical Heatwave

My daughter Liz says; You know you’re in Brisbane today when:-
The best parking space is determined by shade instead of distance. Hot water comes out of both taps. You learn that a seat belt buckle makes a pretty good branding iron. The temperature drops below 35c and you feel a little chilly. You discover that in February it only takes two fingers to steer your car. You discover that you can get sunburnt through your car window. You develop a fear of metal car door handles. You break a sweat the instant you step outside at 7:30am. Your biggest bicycle wreck fear is, “What if I get knocked out and end up lying on the pavement and cook to death?” You realise that asphalt has a liquid state. Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to prevent them from laying hard-boiled eggs. The cows are giving evaporated milk. The trees are whistling for the dogs. While walking back barefoot to your car from the beach, you do a tightrope act on the white lines in the car park. You catch a cold from having the aircon full blast while you sleep during the night. You learn that David Jones isn’t a department store its a temple to worship air-conditioning
Over in West Australia Yobbo is having a fight with the local power company and the Gallop Government. Yobbo, not given to verbosity at the best of times, gives a terse message. It seems the State government are confused as to their responsibilities. Let’s run down our service and then fine punters thousands when they use too much. On TV, here in Brisbane, the local authority, obviously trying to avoid terse messages such as Yobbo’s, have promised they can handle the heatwave. 41 deg c forecast for Saturday and Sunday. Not too big a deal but like the chill factor at the South Pole, here in the tropics you have to factor in the humidity. Currently it is 28 deg C with my Weather Channel readout saying ‘feels like 32 deg’ – humidity is adding 4 deg and it is night now. On the weekend 41 deg is going to feel like 45+. Hey. I no complain. House airconditioned and the pool looks inviting albeit the water temp has been hovering at 32 deg all this week. The weather man says it will be the hottest February since the 1930’s. Should give the Greenies a buzz.

War Zone Redfern

Police aim for 40 arrests. From News.com That’s a start now let’s not forget the leaders. They need their day in court as well. munro.jpg Lyle Munro again
Mr Munro said suggestions the youths were goaded by older people demeaned their intelligence.
Yeah, right. I didn’t see much intelligence to demean in the scenes I saw. Least of all from Munro.
But he said he was not concerned about police targeting those they believe had incited the riot If they arrest me, they’re going to have to arrest a lot of other elders.”
If they were involved in the riot or didn’t do anything to stop it then they should be arrested
He said he believed he was being wrongly targeted because of previous run-ins with police and his “history in black affairs”.
Yep. Thats how it works. Develop a reputation as a dangerous idiot and the police check you each time you incite a riot.

Tragedy in Iran

From the New York Times irantrain.jpg
The 51 freight train cars — hauling sulfur, fuel oil and other industrial chemicals — caught fire and blew up outside Neyshabur, 400 miles east of Tehran, IRNA reported. The villages that were badly damaged were made up of mud brick structures and sat within what officials said was a 12-mile diameter blast zone.
Yep, 12 mile blast zone. Why worry about the expense of nukes. Ground zero is seldom that big. Google says 200 dead. These people do not need this.

De Niall or Not?

Can’t understand it. One day I can link to Niall and the next I can’t. Does he make a decision every morning to block or not. What is it based on? Were we good little left wing vegemites the day before; did we leave disparaging comments on his site or are we blocked rotationally by some left wing software. You try, toss a coin, heads or tails, off or on. Niall, block me or don’t, but stop turning me off and on – it turns me off.

Race Riot?

Drunken riot, more likely. Picture this; Two nights ago Kev Gillett and his mates get drunk and start throwing molotov cocktails at police in response to one of our number getting himself killed in an accident. Would I be writing this now or would I be suffering a dearth of amenities such as a computer because I was in goal. Your damn right, I’d be in goal – so why aren’t those little shits from Redfern in goal now. Plenty of videos, plenty of stills, plenty of ID. Double standards. redfern1.jpg NSW police in Redfern War Zone. Chief Bastard at BastardInc suggests a rifle company from 3RAR would have changed the scoreline and I agree. However Aid to the Civil Power is a cumbersome tool and rightly so, but some military tactics would have helped the poor police. redfern2.jpg Try this- 100 police come up behind the ‘poor drunken fellow me’ darlings. 30 go either aside to block withdrawal routes into the houses and 30 stay back to secure the ammo (molotov cocktail and paver supplies) and act as a cut-off party. No retreat. (For the nitpickers and mathmeticians, the other ten are Command and Control) Arrest the leaders first and then the thugs, one by one. Next morning send a car to collect Senator Wridgeway and take him to Long Bay where he can try and talk some sense into the lads. He has nothing of merit to say to the country about the incident so he may as well try and make them see how negative their actions are. Laurie Quartermaine, Aboriginal leader and Ostrich blames the politicians. Lyle Munro (same link – scroll down) blames the politicians, the police and ATSIC.
At an impromptu public meeting in Redfern’s notorious Eveleigh Street yesterday, community leaders accused police of regularly harassing and beating Aboriginal youths in the area. “The stand had to be taken once and for all,” Lyall Munro said. “We’re sick of the intimidation by police. You should be proud of the efforts of young people to defend Aboriginal people.” Mr Munro lashed out at ATSIC and other indigenous organisations, which he said had failed to represent local Aborigines adequately.
You should be proud of the efforts of young people to defend Aboriginal people.” Excuse me. Are we talking about the same incident? I don’t know what position this Lyall idiot holds but he should be relieved of it – NOW Newsflash guys. The country blames the thugs. Black, white or brindle; not a race riot, a riot of thugs trying to kill police. Readers, wait for the first aborigine leader to blame the thugs. Write down the name and remember it – a true leader.
