Richard Carlton dies mid attack
60 Minutes Richard Carlton’s last words
“On 26th October last year, not 10 metres from where these men are now entombed, you had a 400-tonne rock fall. Why is it, is it the strength of the seam, or the wealth of the seam, that you continue to send men into work in such a dangerous environment?”Typically Carlton was trying to pin the blame for the disaster in the mining company, but let’s face it they continue to send men into work in such dangerous environments because they are miners and the company’s business is mining. Left wing shock journalism will never be the same. I won’t miss him but I’m sure his family and fans will be devastated and I feel sorry for them……well Ok…. I feel sorry for his family.
At least he had the decency to drop off the twig during the excruciatingly drawn out media circus in Tassie, thereby ensuring many, many hours of advertiser paid broadcast time could be padded out at no cost to the networks.
Not far behind Jim Cairns in the “dance on the grave” category.
However, likewise, condolences to his family.
Well his death is quite a tragedy….i actually met him….he seemed nice and quite interested in the topic to be discussed on 60 minutes….death any way is not a happy thing….so i hope the family and friends are coping and my regards go out to you….and people who make really rude or abnoxious comments about him should really examine themselves first!!!
He can seem nice…when he met you he had no need to be otherwise. Not so for some of his targets in interviews. The people he sneered at and spoke down wouldn’t think he was nice nor would the people he confronted in the middle of their grief from the loss of loved ones.
