Red Badge of “Up Yours”
Social engineers promise to turn me into a pariah by making me put a sticker on my V8 4WD (SUV). I’m proud of the fact that even my vehicle is politically incorrect and if I can get a sticker to prove it, I’d be ecstatic.
OWNERS of petrol-guzzling vehicles would be “shamed” with bright-red stickers on their cars under a scheme to be considered by the State Government.“Shamed?” It’d be a badge of honour! Sunday, when professional journalists have a day off, produces weird copy, but this article is a beauty.
Under the plan, introduced in Britain this week, large vehicles that chew through fuel ? like four-wheel-drives and high performance vehicles ? display red stickers as a warning of their environmental unfriendliness.
The rating system is based on a car’s emissions of harmful carbon dioxide, the gas recognised as having a serious effect on the Earth’s climate.I’d say my modern V8 emitts less CO2 than most Hippy chariots (VW Kombis) I’ve seen, what with modern technology and regular servicing my mechanic is very serious about emmissions and adjusts and retunes whenever necessary. However I still want a red sticker, but I want mine to say “The gas created by this 4WD has addled the brains of ten Greenies”. Something must be causing Bob Brown and his dreadlocked warriors to act like they do. And I want it now!
I suppose that the Red Star would not go over very well in West Texas where gas guzzling is good for business [oil business] and where having a sedan vs. a Lincoln Navigator or Humvee puts one in the minority! :>]
And they should make Jews wear a yellow star on their clothes as well.
A red star’s a little commie-looking don’t you think? I reckon a koala lying tits-up with crossed eyes and its tongue out as an illustration of your destruction of nature would be more effective. I’ll need 7 to start with.
I’d love one, even though my car probably doesn’t qualify. I suppose I could always stick a supercharger on it to get over the line.
I’m gonna get my car made less efficient just so I can get one of these babies!
Damn my large engine that’s so fuel efficient! Does anyone know of a way I can mount/plumb a diesel tank into my exhaust, so at the flick of a switch I can pump raw fuel into my exhaust, dumping millions of ppm of hydrocarbons into the atmosphere AND get a really cool flame out the back?
Come on Kev, if you get one they’ll all want one.
………..”oh, Ive got a red star”
………..”oh yeah, well we’ve got two red stars and a partridge in a pear tree”
Our office young bloke reckons he saw a Habib on Friday night with a Skyline R33 that he’d mounted a spark plug in the tail pipe, so under hard accelereation when the turbo’s pumping raw fuel out the exhaust he could light it up, giving about a two metre sheet of flame out the back.
