The Courier Mail has an article about a statue ‘weeping‘ in a Brisbane suburb.

The Christian Supplies store in Elizabeth St, Brisbane City, has sold more than 120 statues of the Miraculous Our Lady and tens of kilograms of rosary prayer beads to devout Vietnamese Catholics.“I would estimate that we have sold between $6000 and $10,000 worth of stock because of this,” Mr Salvati, the manager, said.
The Catholic Church is expected to conduct an investigation into the mystery within days.But not too soon.

Call me a skeptic, but I fail see why the statue(s) cannot be X-Rayed to see what’s inside (even a small portable x-ray unit could be brought in if the stautes are considered “too precious” to move).
As far as the “blood/oil” is concerned, is it too much like common sense to just collect a sample and have it analysed? Is someone afraid they may find out it’s brake fluid with a bit of food coloring added?
With no offense to the good folks of Inala they should submit the statues and “oil” for testing, i.e. Put Up or Shut Up.

What might be noticed: `miracles’ do not augur faith. If the credo istaken seriously, baptised in the name of the Father the Holy Spirit and the Son, as the NT writers assert the chrisitian is a saint and that divine relation suffices. Nothing more is required. Reducing faith to experience of mystical hapazard psuedo-phenomena , like `pentecostalism of which bleivers, in church are supposed to experience a transitory jumping jack flash asserted to be the holy spirit at work , make a nonsense of chrisitna faith, ultimately undermine .
