Time is the essence
My daughter Liz sent me this pic. She thinks its fake, I’m not sure.
Can any US or local readers comment?
Capt Christopher Strickland ejects from a USAF ‘Thunderbirds’ F-16C less than one second before it hits the ground at Mountain Home Air Base Idaho, on Sep 14th 2003.
Update:
Wallace from Big Gold Dog says it’s true and who am I to argue with a Texan. See comments.
I don’t know whether this particular shot has been modified, but it could well be accurate.
I have seen at least three movies (TV news) of similar incidents – from memory two American and one Russian – all spectacular to say the least, and all pilots escaping so close to death they should’ve blown their next year’s salary on Tatts tickets!
A true incident…..

Must have been using some shit-hot high speed film and a super quick shutter speed. Would also have to have been very swift in changing trousers, given the direction of the (now) pilotless aircraft and the several thousand pounds of kero on board.
